Registered participants are welcome to submit abstracts for the presentation of papers at the World Congress of NGOs.
While the speakers for the plenary sessions, symposia, workshops, and keynote addresses are selected by the Technical Program Committee, the Congress is making available opportunities for NGO leaders and representatives to present papers during the Congress. These presentations may be on issues of interest to the NGO leaders, or they may introduce their organizations or particular projects at this time.
Submissions of abstracts must be received by May 1, 2012. Abstracts will be reviewed anonymously by a panel of reviewers and will be accepted on the basis of their merit, relevance, potential interest to the audience, and qualifications of the presenter. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance within one month of their abstract being properly submitted.
At the conference, speakers are limited to 10 minutes to make their presentations, including questions and answers. Participants should prepare a 4-page or longer paper, and succinctly summarize their key points during their presentation time. Submitting an abstract implies a commitment to present the paper in English if the abstract is accepted.
The Abstracts Subcommittee will attempt to accommodate as many presentations as possible, given time and space constraints. Please note that presentations that include any fundraising appeals will not be accepted or permitted.
Presenters who are selected for the panel sessions are encouraged to submit the full papers of their presentation, in English, by the time of the conference. Only submitted papers will be considered for publication in the conference proceedings.
