Overview
"Accra 2008 WANGO Conference" is the first edition of a WANGO regional conference/retreat to be held in Africa. It is a follow up to the 2007 World Congress of NGOs held in Toronto, Canada in November. The forum is to serve as the leading voluntary and membership meeting for over 300 representatives/members of NGOs, government, business and support agencies in the region and beyond. It will address issues of fundamental import crucial to the growth and development of the humanitarian sector in sub-Saharan Africa.
The conference is also to serve as a rallying point for NGO activities and centerpiece of the Association’s activities in the region, professional development, sustainable development programmes as well as corporate social engagement in the efforts towards active volunteerism. Participants are provided a unique opportunity to acquire the mechanism and support needed to network, brainstorm, and share innovative ideas that assist in the management of their NGOs towards multiply their inputs in solving humanity basic problems.
